Hooked up a scanner to my 97 2.4 z24, code came up as speed sensor, but when I go to change the VSS, I pulled the plug out, but the sensor itself will not come out of the tranny. I've tried tugging, twisting, yanking, nothing. Here is a pic just to make sure I did find the VSS and not a different sensor... Any help would be greatly appreciated.



97 z24: 5speed, short throw shifter, 3000gt spoiler, kicker audio, SRI, long-tube header. --currently in the building process...

Mine war very hard to get out. PB Blaster and Hammering a punch to get it to spin worked. once it broke loose it came up and out. A bit of a headach.if it is not registering or jumping around on you, it may be covered in metal shavings, the gears in my differential were on their way and caused that. THe sensor is a magnet. It may be signs of a larger problem. Good luck with it
