My car keeps throwing a P0106...

And I'm not sure why. P0106 is MAP/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem. I've replaced the sensor 3 times now (good thing it's under warranty), and cleaned the passage way that the tube sits in with a long stiff wire. Car still runs drives and idles great. No obvious vacuum leaks. Hoses coming off the intake look good. Wires going to the sensor look good. Any ideas? Car is a 1997 2.2 with 260,500 miles. I just took it on a 200 mile road trip today after replacing the sensor last night. Cleared the codes with my code reader. The light popped on maybe 40 miles into my drive.

Are you using an OEM sensor?

Is the sensor seated snugly into the port on the manifold?

The original sensor that was in the car was black, don't know if it was the original one or not. It now has a gray one (BWD I think?).

Yes, it is in there right and the rubber boot that goes around the nipple looks good and is clean.

Not yet. My multi-meter is still in storage after I moved in May... I know my dad has one that I can use though. That's my next step when I get time.... been focusing all of my time/money on the truck lately.

Turns out my multi-meter was in the boat... Does anybody know how to test the wiring or what the readings should be?

Yes, you would need access to either Mitchell or Alldata to get the wiring diagram,. To see which wire is reference, signal, and ground.

I currently cant access Mitchell
