is it constant clicking when you turn the key? turn on your headlights and run the wiper blades and try to start then. if they don't come on, you know the battery doesn't have enough juice. since you got a new battery recently, I say get the battery tested. you may have a got a bad one.

I would start by checking ALL of the cables that handle the charging/starting system. It sounds like a bad ground - and when your removing the ground at the battery, your actually moving the problem cable to a point where it makes a good connection again.

Just to test - when it starts acting up - have someone wiggle cables to see if that will make it start.

that's what i thought at first so i wiggled both neg and positive and nothing. checked cable to alt and stuff and wiggled all snug. and i have my hids really close so it actually holds the ground really snug and my positive is really tight. but it hasn't done it again sense the 2nd time, so hopefully it stops
