So I just had a new exhaust put on and everything was going good till I disconnected the battery to get rid of the check engine light I had while driving the car with a giant exhaust leak to the exhaust guy. Now the car runs horrible, I can't boost and if I go to restart it after it has warmed up the car just stalls. It bogs like its getting too much fuel and will even stall out at idle if left for long enough. The idle is rough and the engine shakes, but the RPM's and my vacuum are fine.
I threw a code for the upstream o2 and replaced it with a new acdelco unit, but still same symptoms. I almost wanna say the exhaust gasket is shot, but I really have no idea. It doesn't sound like there is an exhaust leak anywhere.
Thanks guys!
If you reset the computer, it maybe trying to relearn the idle settings and such. It takes a few days for it to relearn everything. Keep driving it for a couple days and see what happens. But I know if you unhook the battery, that it will reset everything and cause the car to run like crap for a few days. Other then that, I dont know either. This is just my theory.
What kind of car are we talking about here and what do you mean by not being able to boost? What engine platform do you have, etc?
Some people have brain storms, others light drizzles. And then there are those that have droughts.
