About 6 months ago, my passenger side window stopped going up. I could still get it to go up if after a few minutes, I hit the button to make it go up but it would only go up about an inch. I would wait another few minutes and get it to go up another inch or two. I'd have to do this over and over until it closed.
Problem is, within the past day or so, it wont go up AT ALL. It will go down, but not up.
Anybody know the problem and how to fix it? It's going to be raining this weekend... I need to get the window up. Any ideas?

If you were having problems of going up 6 months ago, then why did you continue to put it down?
But anyways, you need to replace the window motor.
I was able to put it back up like I said... just took a while. Now it wont budge at all going up. It will go down, but not up. Any way to manually put it up?

needs a window regulator/motor. happened to both the windows on my coupe. i replaced both regulators and all is well. only way to make it go back up would be wait a while then try again. only other way i can think of getting it up would be to pop the door panel off and force the window back up by hand.
if you don't wanna do that cover the window with plastic.

This is my only solution that i could think of, is by just taking the door panel off and forcing it up.
Thats exactly what happened to mine, you do need a window motor, but i dont think there is anyway to get it up besides forcing it.

I had my roommate look at it last night since he knows more about cars than I do and he thought it might be the switch since it goes down, but it wont go up... does that sound like a possibility? How hard is it to pop the door panel off? How much do you think it would cost to replace the motor? Is that a do it yourself job or would I need to take it in to the dealership?

Its not your switch, its the motor. It shouldn't be more than 50 bucks but is riveted to your regulator assembly. The rivets willl need to be drilled and replaced with supplied bolts. The job will take you a few hrs your first time.
Unfortunately, I don't have anything to do with rivets. If I removed the door panel and bought the motor how long do you think it would take a mechanic to install it for me?
Where can I get the motor? Like Shucks or Napa Auto Parts?

This is a common problem in these cars, just had mine replaced a few months ago. I know how to replace it, but lack the proper tools so I took it to my mechanic. Replaced the window motor and regulator for about $100 in labor, bought the stock replacement from napa for $45. Before you buy a replacement you need to know:
1.Drivers side/passenger side?
2. Coupe/Sedan/Vert?
The motors/regulators are all different, so make sure you buy the right one. I would just go to napa or any half decent parts store; they should have it in stock, its a fairly common replacement. Much better than wondering if they will ship your motor and regulator in a timely manner.
Well.. im not sure what I need.
On the Schucks website, I found a Cardone Window Lift Motor but below it is a VDO - Power Lift Motor. They look completely different. Whats up?
Again, if I were to buy the right motor, pull the door panel off myself (that should be pretty easy right?) and took my car to a mechanic, how long do you think it would take him to install it?

Heres something else....
When I was able to roll the window up bits at a time, it worked a lot better when it was cold out or in the morning. In the afternoon or when it was hot, it wouldnt roll up as much each time. My mechanic said he thought something was getting overheated and shutting itself off....
Any merit to that?

the window's dying/dead. that's it. just do what cavaclysmic told you. go to a parts store, tell them what type of car you have, and tell them which side it is. that's it. it shouldn't take anymore than about an hour for a mechanic to put it in.
