i just changed my oil today, i have a 200 cavi, with a 2200OHV... a few months ago i started noticing burning oil, and when you life the hood, you can really smell it, and when i take the dip stick out, i can see white smoke coming out of the holder thingy... help please...

Was your oil discolored at all when you changed it? Any white smoke out the exhaust?

Burning oil & white smoke sound like a leaky head-gasket to me.

my oil was just dirty, it was a very dark brown, almost a black, and im sure i might have a little smoke but im not 100%, i dont have any smoke when idling but mostly likely when i stomp on the gas i do.

and also i have lifter tick, and its getting worse over time... i changed my oil today with 3 quarts 5w-30 pennzoil, and 1 quart 10w-40 pennzoil, and 1 pint of marvel mystery oil
