Welp. They been doing construction by me and I bee drivin on some jacked up dirt roads for a few months. I hit some potholes kinda hard and w/ racing springs installed I kinda had a feeling I mighta jacked some stuff up. I took the car in apparently I need a new drivers side tie rod. Which brings me to me next order of business, I always told myself that when stuff starts to break I will start upgrading so I guess I want to upgrade. Anyone know if they make stronger/more durable aftermarkey tie rods / tie rod ends. I've seen tie rod ends, but no tie rods. I love to take turns really fast as well so upgrading all this would be important to me. Any other upgrades you all can think of as to keep the tie rods in good condition as well? As far as I know the only thing you really need to upgrade is the end. Talk to Phil Lindsay. He makes some sweet custom ones.

i had to put in a new rack and pinion just because i had a smidge of play and knock in the rack could have been an inner tie rod but it was time...so i bought a new with two outers...everything from napa and it was much tighter than before...i got the more expensive outers and the handling and ride without the knock is much better than before! just on a side note the outers that i ended up getting where the aluminum i believe because the other ones were real thick and heavy painted black these ones were like shiny bare silver and still are after about 6 months or so! definitely worth the work and money.... reguardless of what you buy i would recommend keeping the style with grease fittings...i dont agree and never will agree with one time grease job....call up chrysler and ask them how the neon design is working...FAIL...not just neons most chryslers have the no grease fitting style outers and they are all the worst tie rods to change it just so happens...

Whos this Phil Lindsay? I haven't been on here in.... Forever. Anyone know a good brand for the Outers? I'll prolly end up replacing the whole assembly as well. I don't really like buying things from Nappa.
Since I like taking turns pretty damn fast, would sway bars help prolong the life of the tie rods / ends?

He blatantly disobeyed the rules and paid the consequences.
Just stick with the standard tie rods with the grease fittings and if you can afford them, get the Moogs. They're pretty much the best brand out there for our cars so they'd be the way to go.
Check out RockAuto.com for parts for your car. Great place and you've got a great selection to choose from. I'd also shop around online for AdvancedAuto and OReiley's too since they have some good deals from time to time and once you find what you're looking for with the best price, then you buy.
Sway bars keep the car from swaying, plain, and simple. They won't do much to help save the tie rods but they will help in the handling of the car.
Strut bars for the front and rear will help the suspension keep the car planted on the road too as they stiffen the chassis up so that the suspension can do what it's supposed to do by keeping the wheels firmly planted on the road.

Welp I'm gonna go w/ the Moog's but now I got another question LOL. I'm looking through my Haynes manual / the parts store web site and to me it seems that both the drivers and passenger side are the same thing. Anyone know if I just buy 2 of each part, or if they are seperate parts if I want to replace both sides? I know the ends are the same, but do I need to buy 2 inners if I want to replace both inners, and are they the same?
They're not the same and should have a left and right side BUT, I'm not 100% sure on this.
If the places you're looking for parts state there's a left and right, then buy them as such.
If they use the same part number for either side, then do so.
Oh and it looks like Mr. Lindsay is back on the forums so if you want to get the information from him or not, you can.
I'm still not sure if he's premium or not so that'll be his ultimate expression of doing the right thing.

Yeah I am looking at the part description and they just say Tie rod end, and Inner tie rod. No left , right , driver, or passanger. Looked in my haynes manual and that dosen't show both side only the drivers side. Hopefully someone who knows 100% could call me. I might just call the dealer and see if they know

Talked to the dealer. The outers & inners are the same part for both sides. So that clears ev up.
