One day i started car up to go to class an right off the bat my automatic tranny started shifting firm. I say firm because i've had it in limp mode(no IAT plugged in) and the shift where neck breaking compared to this. These one are just quick firm shifts. They only occur when you first start the car then they get smoother but sluggish after the 3 or 4 miles. It has to be electrical because when I pull of the road for a second and put it in park and turn it off and right back on again it shifts firm for 3-4 miles then they go to smooth but sluggish. I've tried replacing my IAT, TPS, and resetting my PCM checked the PCM conections and ground...nothing has helped
Its not just transmission the engine is running rough and has a rattle to it. nothing valvetrain related but a fait noise possably detonation knock?
No check engine lights have come on either....
my car only has 79,xxx miles
anyone ever had this problem?
One of my sensors out?
Do you have any CE lights??
Nope drove it for 20 miles hoping it would set one off nothing. could it be a knock sensor since I have poly mounts?
I dont think its ur knock sensor bc that would throw a CE light. IIRC the tranmissions has a sloenoid that controls the smoothness of the trans shifts. That could be malfunctioning, especially since u say it goes away and becomes sluggish. I would also have someone check ur fluid level and filter. Just as a precaution. I wish I could help more, and hopefully someone else has more experience with these issues. Goodluck.
