I have a 2000 cavalier 2200 that I just did A 5 speed swap on. I now have a theft light that comes on and stays on. The car will turn over all day but will not start. I unplugged the pcm (power control module) just in case of arcing from the welding when I put the new mount brackets in but Did not unplug the bcm (body control module) under the dash. Figured of all the welding from the exhaust shops that I had nothing to worry about. I have tried the relearning process stated in the FAQ but it states the light will blink and it just stays on with no blinking. I also noticed that my fuel gauge reads empty and I know I have gas in it. I have bypassed the fuel pump relay and I get fuel to the fuel rail when doing this but still no starting. What would be my next step?
nevermind. this just goes to show make sure everything is all the way plugged in. I found I had not plugged in the pcm all the way. derp
Why is there a velocity stack in your front bumper? And what is hanging under the bumper??
ha ha It was hooked to my air filter and It did slightly help at high speeds. but I have a new bumper now. The stuff on the bottom is my home made ground effects (plastic from home depot). Im redneck
I was having problems with my anti-theft system also and found a good way to bypass it. I read on the internet that you first have to remove the plastic from around the steering column. When the car is running disconnect the small two wire connector near the ignition key, this puts the car in fail safe mode and the car will always start and the theft system is disarmed. I did that and have never had a problem since then.

Or instead of ripping apart your steering column you could have did the relearn thats answered in the FAQ's section and never have a problem again.......
