I just recently did an auto 3 speed to manual 5 speed. I am now getting a heavy vibration in the front of the car, not really felt in the steering though. It happens on initial take of at full throttle and seems to be a driveline vibration. I'll be honest I have drop springs and my struts are shot. I was at a loss of what It could be because I didnt see anything loose and all new mounts but was told my struts could be vibrating now that I have more torque at the wheels. I just wanted a second opinion of this,
Thanks
Front end not aligned properly?. Wheel bearings?.
No I personally aligned it myself on the alignment rack and both front wheel bearings are new about a year ago. I did notice it doesnt even have to be full throttle. it can also be half throttle, just enough for that good torque to kick in.
Did you torque the wheel bearings correctly when you installed them? They die very quickly if you over tighten them, and wheel bearings dieing in a year isn't outside the realm of possibilities, especially if you buy cheap bearings.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
Well I finally figured out what is was. The torque mount that i had replaced about 6 months ago and thought it was still good had seperated the two pieces of metal and tweeked it enough to where it would rub against the braket under torque. It prob got all eeffed up when I blew up my transmission. But its fixed now and I didnt get a bad used transmission.
