Electrical gremlin on my Z24?
Monday, December 13, 2010 7:41 PM
Hi need input on this, here is the story: Every once and then mostly I think when I got all accessories on A/C, lights, stereo,etc.. suddenly all warning lights come on also the gauges go to zero, sometimes just for a few seconds others it lasts a few minutes and then it all goes back to normal ???? Thanks God the engine stays on. I have cleaned the battery terminals, tightened them, checked the wire under the fuse block, grounds under the batt. tray also fuses and relays and they all look ok. What could be causing this? It also seems to happen when I turn on the high beams or something that pulls a lot of electricity. It is almost as if there was a breaker that trips and then it resets itself. Anyone has solved something similar, please help.

You have a bad ground somewhere or a weak alternator....

Since I could not find the cause I took the car to the shop and had it fixed it was a wire in the main harness connector that somehow got fried, for the time being the technician took the wire out of the big connector and made a bypass with a new individual connector for this wire, now it runs outside of the main connector.
