wheel grinding?

grinding sound coming from the wheel i believe front driver side. only comes on when breaking.
had front passenger wheel bearing go out few months ago, doesn't sound like that but i'm not ruling it out. could be a rotor with grooves cut into it i suppose. it's not a constant noise either, it's like a rotational noise, which is what's leading me to believe brake rotor or something of the sort. no i haven't actually looked at it other than quick glances it's been single digits for about a week now just trying to see if anyone else has any other ideas?

thanks

Sounds like brakes to me. Look to see if you can get your hand through the wheel to feel both sides of the rotor. Otherwise you will need to remove the wheel to inspect the pads and rotors or anything else that may be causing the grinding.

I had that sound once for months because I couldn't figure it out. I would check your brakes the rotor and the caliper to see if is seizing. Another thing to check is your nuts that secure the steering knuckle to the strut Mine got loose after dropping the car and that caused a similar sound.

I accidentally the SHIFT LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig

It's most likely the brakes, but just in case, did you torque the drive shaft nut to 185 lb*ft? If you over or under torque them the bearing dies VERY quickly.

Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.

hopefully taking a look at this by sunday.

i've also come to notice that it happens when i'm light on the brakes. if i press the brakes down firmly there's no noise. also coming down in speed slowly while not giving it any gas will cause it to start making the sound, so it's apparently not only when hitting the brakes, just never while accelerating.
