I have a 2000 cavalier 2.2l(is there a difference between 2.2l and 2200?). I was wondering what brand of oil everyone uses in there cavalier? Also I was wondering what kind of spark plugs and wires everyone uses? I know that ac delcos are what recommended.
Technically they're both 2.2L but they're a little different, not by much though. On here, when you say 2.2Ohv it's usually referred to as the 95-97's. 2.2 and the 2200 is the 2.2L from 98-02, and the Ecotec 2.2 is just called the Eco or Ecotec. As for oil brands, I usually just look for whatever is on sale at the stores lol aslong as it's 5w-30 or 10w-30 and synthetic or synthetic-blend, oil filters - most use Fram since it's not as pricey and does the job...thats my car, other may have different opinions, spark plugs I'm not sure myself.

wrong on both counts. fram filters are generally $2-3 more expensive than filters that actually filter.
do the research. save your engine, and your money.
they only cost 4 dollars by me
i use syntec in my fire and bronco, i'll only put gm filters in the sunfire tho, i've heard stories of the fram cartridge's falling apart. i usually use em on the truck and my wifeys car.
never had a problem with frams on any of my vehicles, and i usually use mobil1 or what ever full synthetic is on sale and 5-30 or 0-30 in winter
Filter: Wix, STP, or Purolator
Oil: Whatever you want
I personally use Valvoline Full Synthetic, and a Purolator
Spark Plugs: AC Delco
Now, someone else may be able to confirm or deny this, but from what I understand, NGK's work well in GM's.
Non-synthetic Valvoline 5w30 would be my choice. I use it in everything automotive and don't have a problem with it. Change it every 3K or so. I'd prefer an AC filter on a GM vehicle.
wow i guess i like pampering my car more than most...
I use AC Delco only filters on mine. fram sucks and is crap for filtration and falls apart.
For oil i use mobil 1 full synthetic, still changing it 3000 miles. possibly switching to amsoil this year and might go a little longer on oil changes, we will see, i really like 3000...
and plus, if replacing stock with stock, stick with the stock ac delco's. for boosted aps, ngk works well. dont fall for any of the tri fire super platinum quad tipped crap. its all junk.
It should be noted, that most if not all of the AC Delco platinum and iridium plugs are made by NGK.
