My battery was being drained every couple of days since it got cold (don't drive it everyday when off of school) so I figured do a parasitic draw test with a multimeter to see if it was the amp. Turns out I was getting a 0.32 amp draw from a combination of aftermarket radio (0.05 amps), 3 glowshift gauges and led lights (0.11 amps) and the cluster (0.20 amps)...has anyone else had this problem with so much drawn from the cluster?
Your radio has a constant 12v signal to keep the memory. If you have a digital odometer, it will also use power even while off IIRC.
Run the power for the glowshift gauges to a 12v source that comes on with the car. Might help.
i know the radio uses powe and its normal at 50ma, the glowshift gauges are hooked to a 12v switched on...but 0.2amps for a digital odometer seems a bit much but i found today that that fuse runs the remote for doors, alarm interior light and so on so who knows what is pulling the juice
Love your sig btw haha they make a thing you link onto your battery, fairly small and not so expensive but when the key is out of the car, it limits the draw on the battery
It was .32 when the car was off for a day...it's cool though i'm not gonna worry about it, it mainly happens in the winter because of the cold weather...haha thanks 95LsCoupe i hate those commercials for mercedes or whoever else has the automatic safety stopping crap, did you happen to see the Top Gear where they showed the testing of it for a company and the car slammed right into the back of the semi trailer, it was great
