I have a question? My 2001 cavalier was not used for 7 month because I was away, now it dont start, I change the batery, the spark plugs, the fuel filter, I even used carburator cleaner to start the engine, it fired and the engine is working. I realy hope is not the fuel pum., Is there any way I can find out if the pump is working???? How do I know if its the fuel pump sensor? what else can I do???
Initially when you turn the key to the ON Position without starting it, listen for the fuel pump to prime the system. It will switch on for a few seconds then shut off. If you don't hear it, I would suggest checking your fuse then go from there.
Save your money. It might be worth something someday.
