2001 Z24 Coolant leak

Here recently my car has developed a bit of a coolant leak, which now has gotten to be a bit more pronounced than before. I've looked under the car and have seen coolant dripping off the front and maybe the rear of the Transmission pan. Think I found the hose in question but not sure what the actually hose is. Comes from just under the top of the engine block as a metal tube and then to a fitting that then becomes a rubber hose that snakes its way down back behind the motor to another metal tube in the shape of a "J" from there im not sure where it goes.

Does anyone happen to have a diagram or advice as to which hose this maybe? I've tried to see if i could get a number off of it with little luck. Car has 163,000 miles on it and still the original hoses so i know the time is creeping up to change them soon.

If it is the heater hose (metal pipe, connector, hose in the back of engine) I can almost guarantee you it is the "quick connect" plastic piece that needs changing. I had that problem a month ago, I burned $45 on a hose thinking it was that, turned out it was the quick connect. When I get home, I'll pass you the part number, I got for $16 at the dealer.

The plastic one just underneath the exhaust header? If its that one your talking about, It cracked a while back and i just took that out completely and put a hose clamp around it. that was about a year or so ago. this looks like it maybe coming from driver side area.

I think your talking about the little steel tube that goes from the water outlet, and around the back of the motor(the plastic water outlet where the coolant temp sensor screws into) that maybe leaking. IIRC the little steel tube has a small O Ring and the last time I removed it, I used a new O-Ring and a little make a gasket. Check that, its on the drivers side. Plus that plastic outlet is notorious for leaking, but if you do it, make sure you buy the O ring also, if not you will regret it. Goodluck!

I'll see if I can get a pic or two in the morning of it. I have changed out the coolant temp sensor before. There is some liquid residue around that area but doesn't look like it's nearly enough to cause a puddle under the car.

Found the source of the leak this morning. Coming from in between the block and thermostat housing. Looks the like the seal went bad. Going to swap the seal and put a new thermostat and houses on while it's apart.
