Clutch needs bled often???
Saturday, April 16, 2011 2:37 PM
Just a couple months ago my car got hard to shift and so i bled the clutch and it was fine again, but after about a week or so i have to re-bleed it. I'm not sure what it really is but im not losing any fluid at all...ive heard the slave cylinder is most likely the problem but wanted a few more opinions. I'm just getting tired of having to bleed it and buy fluid

i would say it is the internal slave cylinder. was having the same issue then one time after i bled it it stopped leaking. it has been 2 or 3 months and it hasn't leaked a drop. and i was filling it up at least once a week at one point.

Had the same problem had to bleed it every week or so . replaced the slave cylinder and the problem is gone . what sucks is you have to remove the trans to replace the slave cylinder .

Sounds like you and I were/are having the same problems. My shifter got real rubbery and didn't want to get in gear, couldn't use reverse without turning the engine off first. Bleeding it helped temporarily, but just recently replaced the slave cylinder (and the clutch while I was in there), and now it's fine.
