i had my car alligned because when i bought it the tires werent worn evenly and the wheel was cocked to the left so the chevy emblem was at about 4 o clock. now that its alligned it drives straight but the wheel is to the right a littl bit so if straight up and down is 12 and 6 o clock its at about 1 and 5. its not way of but its off is that normal? let me know what you guys think. thanks alot.
Sloppy wheel alignment is all it is, generally happens with older systems and they dont bring the steering wheel back to a good center when the machine tells ya too. I did it myself once or twice... real piss off cause you have to do the whole thing again.
A do it yourself fix to center your wheel, and lock the column (which is most likely what they didnt do) and be very precise but turn your tie rod ends in the proper direction, to correct correct a right hand (wheel straight steers left) bring drivers side in, pass side out. Use the SAME AMOUNT OF TURNS EACH SIDE. Do it 2-3 full turns at a time till corrected. the rod ends are a fine thread.
Or take it back and tell em to fix it. There are 2 parts to a "wheel" alignment.... the tire alignment which is based off of the rims in relation to the car, and the steering alignment, which is the steering wheel to the tires. although some will pull the the right naturally due to road camber, check the travel on a more even surface like a parking lot to be sure its just not that issue.
ok ill see what it does in a parking lot and post back to you.
