new engine running rich

I have an '89 Chevrolet Corsica with the 2.0 vin (1) engine that blew a head gasket at about 208K. I had a rebuilt 2.0 from an '87 Beretta put in the Corsy. Now when I first start the car it runs very rich, so rich that i can barley step on the gas without it dieing. If it is run every day or even every 3rd day, it will act like this until about 5-10 minutes later when it warms up. Then it will run fine. BUT if i let the car sit for more than 4 or 5 days, after it warms up the idle gets very high, and takes a while to come down to normal. The last time I drove it, i was going 45 mph and I never stepped on the gas, that's how high it idles. And if I stop and put it in nuetral, it must get close to redline because its just a racing. Also the speedometer goes up to 5 when that happens...

The engine is complete 1987 2.0, the car still has the 1989 2.0 ECM. The connectors are different from the 87, so i couldn't switch them...unless someone wants to do some plastic connector surgery, and the removable memory part is also different in shape, so i couldn't swap that part either

Any suggestions??

Thanks for your help!

either the computer may need to be tuned, or the throttle may be sticking open. have you cleaned off the butterfly really well?

Well i was hoping i can just replace the TB unit with the one that was originally with the car, as in the parts/illustration book all the years have different part numbers. I dont think the throtte is sticking open. And i'm not sure what the butterfly is.

Ok, so i got the TB's switched out, and started the car, and for the first 3 seconds it ran perfect, and then it started running very rich and the idle went up very very high. I disconnected the coolant, mat, and ither the tps or iac, not both, and no SES light came on. I also found a five wire connector under the dash not connected into anything, and the only thing i can find is that its useless anyways....
