i have a 96 cavalier. had my front end alligned and its not right. steering wheel is off the right if i hold the wheel straight it goes left. i looked at the tierods and its 11 threads out on both sides i counted each one and only counted one that were competly showing and out of the nut. i could look at it and see the passenger side was right and the drivers was out to much i tweaked and played with it. i got it right at 11 threads passenger side 12 1/4 driver side. now its spot on. so im curious is it normal for them to not be equal on both and what is others adjusted at? thanks all i appreciate it.
dunno my measurements, but the whole point of having a shop do it, is the fact that both sides are often not the same.
a computer is used to make sure that everything is even.
i'd take it back to the shop and/or demand a refund/re-alignment.

yea i complained i started out nice you know just explaining the situation and i wasnt mad and that understand stuff happens. and ended up telling them to screw off . they first said its my tires then said its my car its old and stuff happens like that. my front end is tight. but they swore its cuz it was old and then it was well often times domestic cars are off and i should but a foreign car if i want better quality thats when i got pretty pissed. lol i ended up leaving . i called the bbb. as much as id like to kick some ass and throw a fit. i realize the best way to deal with it is to not give them my business and dont recommend them. woorst thing i can do is take money away from them.
So they refused to realign it?
That's dumb.
sure did hell im half blind is one eye 20/200 vision and i could freaking tell its off lol the one tire was perfect the drivers was out. it was plain as day if you looked you see it and they said well you arent a professional so you cant really say its wrong and all i said back was if straight is left and right is straight it isnt alligned correctly. hell the word alligned means parrallel centered things of that nature not 2 inches to the left ior 2inches to the right. lol right over their heads though. i guess they were shocked that i was complaining.
Wow if they would have at least put it on the machine and recheck the measurements with YOU there to see it is what I would have done.I assume this is a local independent shop not goodyear, firestone, michelin u know where gripes can be heard from corporate.I certainly would not go back or recommend. That is a good joke of shop, and never have I had a bad alignment in all my yrs.
