Today i installed the Sunpro 3 pod guages, did everything right...Volt, Water Temp, Oil Pressure.
After few hours of putting it together and returning a stripped one, i started the car and i had a very bad misfire, idling like 1500 bouncing, i give it gas and it struggles.....
To someone who knows more about these cars, I fixed it by plugging the FACTORY oil pressure sensor and water temp back into their harnesses and just let them hang around the engine bay, started it up and it seemed to miss for a little but definitely not as bad. Took it for a ride around, I revved it a few times and no more miss, got on it hard and pulled like it always did....also it seems to idle a bit higher and smell like it runs a tiny bit rich
My 3 questions are
1. Would having those 2 sensors unplugged really cause a misfire that bad? Or you think it was because i was running 1/8 tank gas and had the car jacked on an angle for a while?
2. Would having the factory water temp sensor just hanging in the engine bay cause a higher idle? normal would be 925-950...now its about 975-1000....not much difference but its something i noticed...would it make me run rich like the ecu thinks the engine is still cold start? or is it safe to just leave? factory guage reads all the way cold, sunpro reads ~200degrees
3. What should normal oil pressure be? (warm engine mine idles at 25psi and when i touch the gas it goes up slowly, flooring it high rpms it goes to 65psi........cold engine is 65psi....seem normal?
thanks.
Also will my fan still come on without coolant temp sensor in the coolant??
