My power steering started leaking BAD on monday. When I checked it there was nothing in it so i refilled it and then began to see what all went wrong with it. Mechanic says that the pressure line, return line, and pump are all leaking. But the rack is ok. When i am getting the parts to replace it there are two returns available, one is half metal and half rubber, and the other is rubber at both ends with the curve being the only exposed metal part of the line. One is about $20 and the other is about $60. Is there any way I can find out which one i need because i'm not working on it till saturday or sunday and the part needs to be ordered and it would be difficult to have it taken out until then too. I have a 2001 cavalier 4 door 2.2 ohv. Part numbers 91804 and the other is 92139. Please help, and thanks in advance.
$18.99 at advance and it the right one, not guessing Advance Auto
Rockauto.com also has them and they do FedEx, you might be able to get everything there cheaper even with shipping in some cases.
I found a store near me that has both in stock and when i take it out on saturday i will just replace it with whatever is already in the car. Do you know what the difference between the two are just out of curiosity? Just don't see why extra rubber makes it 3 times as expensive.
It was the 18.99 line. Damn that was a lot of work for 2 lines and a pump!
