So i recently figured out i had a leaking head gasket, so i pulled the head and had it checked and resurfaced, now i have all my parts and a new felpro head set and a new belt, questions 1 is do i need to use any head gasket sealant? question 2 torque specs on the rocker arms, i counted the threads before i pulled the nut off but i just wanna be sure.. you CANNOT reuse head bolts on this engine. they are torque-to-yield. they do not re-torque properly after their first use.

im assuming u mean just the top of the block where u can see the pistons and down in the cylinders..if so i didnt have it professionally checked..i pressure washed my motor down before i tore it down so it wasnt as greasy and everything looked just fine to me...unbelieveably my block was pretty damn clean inside..but my car is running better than ever now so i guess everything was good...off topic but i drive 82 mi round trip every day to school and back and i seriously though my gas gauge was stuck because i drove to school and back today and barely used 1/8 of a tank..i usually use a quarter everyday...but if ur wondering it wasnt stuck because it did move some but not much..lol i think my new 2in intake is doin work on my gas milage i used to run a 3in..i kno it prolly helped alot that my head gasket isnt leaking anymore

$80-110ish usually? That's about the range I paid to have it resurfaced and cleaned:

2001 Olds Alero (LD9)
650 whp / 543 ft-lb
