My driverside ball joint had a big tear in the rubber, would this cause the ball joint to go bad? if so can a bad ball joint make the car pull to the left.
It doesnt really do it much at slow speeds but once i'm on the HWY around 110-120KMPH it pulls to left pretty bad. as soon as i left go of the steering wheel it jerks to the left and the car drifts to that side.
any thoughts?

jack the car up enough to have the drivers front wheel in the air (do not place the jack under the control arm). put your hands at the bottom of the wheel almost parallell with the ball joint, one hand on either side of the wheel. try and move the wheel back and forth towards you and the car, if there is any movement or clunking the ball joint is shot and needs to be replaced. if it's loose enough it could pull to the left too, either way when replacing a ball joint you need to have an allignment done afterwards so that would fix the vehicle pull anyways.
A tear in the boot can cause premature failure due to the grease inside to dry out. Plus a bad ball joint can cause Camber to start going more negative and normally, a vehicle would pull to the most negative Caster and most positive Camber. Has your car been pulling for a while?

i had the car up on the hoist at work and there is no movemt or play in the ball joint, plus ther is no cluncking noise. everything looks and feels good and tight.
its been doing this for over a year now, i've had 2 alingments done to try and fix the problem........ with no luck, i also replaced my caplier casue someone said that it could be stuck and causing drag on that side, causing it to pull, and that wasnt the cause either.
