Starter Removal, 1994 Sunbird LE

If someone has already done a thread about changing the starter in a car like mine, Then i would love to see the thread, i cannot find it in the search.

Anyway .... my starters been going out for a while now and its finally mad it to the grave. I have my car up on Jack-stands right now and am trying to get the old one off, but this things is a serious pain in my bottom. I mean its only a couple bolts and a shim and it should be off, my problem is getting to the top bolt that is out of sight/reach for me while i'm under the car.

Does anyone have experience getting their starter off in this car? Did you just blindly get a wrench on the top and turn it 1/32th a turn at a time? Or could you make it with a socket and extension? This thing is really pissing me off because its hard to reach anything form under the car ( i'm not a small guy.)

On top of all that, i tried to match up the bottom bolt with the new starter and it won't fit >O!!! either the parts store gave me the wrong part, or im going to have to ream out the hole on the new starter.

I am working on one of these beast right now. I was looking for and easier way to remove the starter. From looking at the replacement starter that i have, the top hole is threaded, the top bolt goes through the bell housing into the starter. When you are standing on the drivers side looking toward the starter, find the solenoid. Then look just to the left of the solenoid and you should find a bolt head going through the bell housing toward the starter. I had to move a wire harness out of the way to see the bolt.
