alright guys i know its extremely hard to diagnose sounds on here but this is what i've got, i was driving to work yesterday when all of a sudden i could here a strange sound over my music, i came to a stop and heard what i thought was an exhaust leak close to the engine. i assumed it was and when i got home checked every inch of the pipe front and back and nothing is wrong i covered the exhaust tips to see if i could locate were it was and still nothing, i put it up on the rack and let it run i found out you can only here it if you rev it hard and fast and its even louder while driving if it helps it slightly sounds like metal gears hitting eachother. comments greatly appreciated

not 100% sure but it sounds like engine knocking/pinging.. idk what would cause it out of the blue though, but that's what it sounds like to me, especially under load..

thanks for the reply Joshua i started the car up and tried to listen more towards the engine and not the exhaust for that pinging you talked about and while i was there i noticed that the sound only occurs when i rev hard and it wont do it on deceleration or an extremely slow rev climb i think it has to do with the flex pipe right off the engine it seems like it moves way to much and is rattling off of another piece of metal when large amounts of exhaust is put through it have you ever heard of that flex pipe going bad and causing the exhaust to move too much?
