I got the motor from a salvage yard has 135k on the motor its a 96 ln2 has the once in a while hiccup at idle same as the other motor had runs good but in the last few weeks has developed a @!#$ty lifter tick. I've put 3000 on the motor and changed the oil every 1000 miles because it was from a junk yard motor runs good but the tick annoying can't hear it in the car but can out side. why would it randomly start it and how can I stop it thanks guys

Check you far pass side spark plug ours keeps working itself loose after a fair amount of driving and will that ticking noise and how the hell it works loose is byond me but it always has done since we have had it usually takes 2500 to 2700 to do it but when it does thats when we change the oil LOL kinda like a little reminder from car
