ive had a 2000 cavalier 2.2l for about 5 years now and its been a really reliable car, its only been in the shop for fluid changes pretty much lol.
anyways today i was leaving my cottage, car started fine (everything normal) and drove back to my house, about 2 hours, perfectly fine. after about 5 minutes of getting home, i started my car again and nothing happened.. gauges will move, i can see fuel level, engine temp etc.. ive had problems starting my car before but that was a battery issue, youd hear a clicking noise, but this time its dead silence. Ive checked all fuses and they seem to be fine.
any suggestions?
The starter may be bad, but commonly the little wire to the solenoid breaks or burns. Try jumping it, a screw driver is a back yard trick, but ide suggest removing power and hooking a wire to it, then restore power and tap the pos. terminal... i hope this makes sense.... If not let me know

ended up having it towed to the mechanic, it was a bad ground wire somewhere on the starter i think, from all the winter driving and dirt i guess...
sounds like you were close
anyways 250$ later
