Hey all, new here, bought a 2000 cav for 800 bucks. 120 odd thousand on it. Runs great. One problem came up recently though. I opened the door to get out and when i shut it the latch assembly was in the wrong position and it broke. Is this a common problem with Cavaliers? Been researching on how to buy/replace it but not having much luck.

id snag one from a junk yard. I wouldnt say common but ive heard of it happening. go to junk yard and take the door apart you should be able to discover how to remove it. I've never had to so I cannot give a step by step for you. tomorrow ill go look and tell you though.
