ok so the story on this is she was driving her car and she was getting out of her drive way and the car just turns off. We have tried a lot of things and im kinda just out of ideas the engine turns over but wont start. we thought it was something electrical because when she bought the car we found out she had "custom" wiring. the car was running fine until a few days after she replaced her torque converter. we did remove the injectors to see if there was any fuel coming out but nothing did. if u guys have any ideas it would b great help thanks
First off, is the theft light in the dash on when you are trying to start it? When you turn the key from off to on do you hear the fuel pump priming? (humming noise from the back of the car)
To me it sounds like something in the fuel system though, like the pump, if you had no fuel at the injectors that is... there is a problem somewhere down the line.
And some more information from you would help, maybe fill out the car information in your profile...
Just like Jordan asked. Obviously it's a 99 z24 though.
Check the filter if you here the pump prime. Maybe it is really blocked. DId it run rough before hand or have any symptoms?
i own a 96 2.2l the girl in the photo there is the owner of the z24 and it ran perfect it just stopped out of no where yes i do hear the fuel pump and what i mean about the injectors is i took them off the engine and left all the lines and wires on it then cranked the engine and no fuel sprayed at all then after that we removed one of the injectors from the fuel rail and there was fuel everywhere so i know fuel gets to that point also i replaced her fuel filter around December last yr and she hasnt really been driving her car. i also remember now that we did drop her fuel tank to replace the fuel lvl sensor but she did that pretty much on her own
I remember my car having an extremely hard time starting and or idling when my
Fuel Pressure Regulator went on my Z24. They're known for going bad on these engines too.
Poor sap.
There has been about 10 of us. 99 Z24s that have had this problem. Most give up. I have been working on mine for a few years. I'm in the process of rewiring the entire car right now.
My z24s injectors are also not firing. If you search this forum you should find my VERY lengthy post, and a few others.
I hope you have better luck than I have, and all the other 99 z24 owners that have given up. if i was sane person I would have given up already.
My post...

I believe all the fuses that pertain to injectors/fuel/spark systems are in the under hood fuse block...
And MD did you ever consider trying a 2.2/neon igniton swap? Kurt swapped to 2.2 on my car before I bought it from him and I haven't had any problems yet in the year that I have had it... same 99z
my 99 had a problem like that, all I did was rewire the injectors, change fpr and it went fine, my black car was a 99, once I fixed that had coil problems but fixed those car was running perfect before I had to take it off the road

AJ, I'll check the injector harness.
