so my car has had the "ETS OFF" light blinking since i had the car..but when i push the button on the side of the shifter it goes off...shoulf it be on or off? i have a 97 2.2 ohv

I thtink the light should be off. ETS stands for Enhanced Traction System and you cant turn it off... but no real reason to turn it off while normal driving.

well my light blinks constantly "ets off"..lol oh well hasnt cause any harm in the 2 yrs iv had the car

It could be a vacuum leak somewhere under the hood, or the IAT sensor. It might be something else as well cause I am not too familiar with the 97 2.2ohv or automatics as it might even be a transmission related issue. Sorry I can't really help you any more.

its cool, ii kinda think my button is broke..lol but iv noticed its a little more responsive when i hold the button down to turn it on..but thats just taking off but it doesntdo to well at 2krpm and beyond, but if i just leave it and take off it boggs down just a lil first the does good past 2k..idk wta it is i just figured id ask all i found on this subject were z24 problems
