I have a 95 cavalier with auto transmission.. While repairing an upper intake gasket leak the other day (changed gasket cause vacuum leak causing high rpms) I had to disconnect the throttle cable and another right next to it that looks like it leads to the transmission. Could someone please tell me what that second cable is? (not the actual throttle cable, but the one right next to it. I have a base model with no cruise control so I dont know what that second cable is. I have it disconnected at the moment and it seems as if my car is shifting diffrent. I dont know if this is attributed to the cable or to the fact that I'm so used to driving the car before repairing the intake vacuum leak.
Thanks
Ok I found it is the t.v. cable...does anyone have a pic of how theirs is connected to the throttle body... cant figure out how to get it back on the throttle... I'm hoping I havent connected the throttle casble to where it is supposed to go (got them reversed?)
I cant figure out how to get it reattached.....the picture in the haynes manual looks diffrent than what i have
Dont know if there is a trick to get it back on (If I saw a pic I could prolly figure it out
cant remember if it goes on the black smaller wheel ot the bigger Light colored wheel. I tried putting the throttle cable on the smaller black wheel but it doesnt seem to fit.
i went out and looked at mine, i cant seem to figure out what you're talking about, i have the 95 2.2, but mine is manual....can you post a pic? even a cell phone pic
crap.... how do you upload pics
Still workin on getting the pic up
Ok the pic of what i HAVE IS IN MY SIGNATURE
looks like the throttle cable and cruise control cable to me....
Figured it out ..... I have never had cruise control on this car (base model) but that is what the black wheele is for. The bigger lighter wheel (yellowish) has 2 connections on it to mount the 2 cables shown, I just didnt see the other cable mounting hole initially and thought it went on the black smaller wheel (cruise control).
