Sorry about the title... I wasnt really sure how to word it.
I've just recently bought an 02 cavalier (used to have a 2nd gen... loved that car), now I'm noticing no matter where my hvac controls are set to shoot the air out, I get tons of airflow coming the the main vents. Even when I set it to Off, if I'm doing a good speed on the highway, a strong breeze is still coming out of the vents.
My question is, is that normal for these cars? Or do I likely have some kind of problem with whatever little flap-py door should be controlling where the air flow goes?
Thanks in advance.
This 100% normal, also you will notice if you change it to cold while it is off the air will be colder. If you change your temp guage all the way to the right (warm) the air will be get hotter.
Ya its normal. It's kinda a mandatory thing, for safety. It helps keep the windows from fogging over, supposedly.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me folks. I appreciate it.
Thats one more thing off the fix list. :-)
Switch the vent to the recirculate position, wont be as noticeable.
The reason is does this is because when not in the reciruclate position it is the fresh air mode
