bypass ignition switch?

long story short, i have a 2000 cavalier,i lost my key bought a new one from the dealership and it didn't work, but in the process i messed up my ignition lock. i was thinking about using a toggle swithed and or a push button to start my car instead, but im electronically retarded. does anyone know how to wire this up or is it even possible? i dont have the money to take it to the dealership and its either this or take the car to the crusher. i know this is like hotwiring the car so if you don't feel comfortable with posting it on here please send me a message i really want to get this car running again to get to work.

You need to either:
-get GM to disable passlock
or
-find some way to get your key to turn in the ignition so that you can do the permanent passlock disable (car has to be running)

Passlock is a part of these cars specifically to stop people from doing what you're trying to do. Which is technically hotwiring.
