I just picked up a 01 z24 from my mother its the 2.4 5sd. She was the first owner of the car so this makes me the second. This car has 100k mikes in it, but its having a problem idling arounfd 2100RPMS-1900RPMS i replaced the IAC motor and still nothing i have looked for a vaccum leak and i cant fine one i have no idea. the car runs fine just idles high..

Also...The fan is not kicking on. I can jump the relay and the fan kicks on and works fine...i have replaced the relay and checked the fuses and still will not turn on and the car starts to overheat...

Any Ideas...

I hate to tell ya, but the 2.4 is a total nightmere. Your fan relay may be shot, or the wireing to it. GM was never good with wires. As far as idel, i have found that a simple vac line or a coroded wire can do this.

ok well i have had alot of experience with this problem that you had of ideling high...what you need to do is get a can of either(starting fluid) and spray around the vacuum lines and dont be scared to just spray the hell out of it..and if it idles up more then you can eaisaly find the leak but also by buddy had a 2.4 and he had his intake bracket thats on the bottom of the intake was loose and it was causing the intake to leak around the gasket and ideling up alot...and for your heating it would just be eaiser to run your fans to a toggle switch and i would be much eaiser than messing with the wires
