When I run my AC or heat at anything but full power I hear a clicking noise. My guess would be it sounds like a bad bearing or something, speeds up when the fan is on higher speeds, but goes away when it gets to full speed.
This has been annoying me for over a year now, but for some reason I am just now so fed up that I need it fixed before I start using my heat this winter.
Any ideas on what I need to lube and or replace to make this noise go away? If you guys have suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. At this point the noise sounds like its all over in my dash so I don't know what to take apart to find the source.
mine is doing it too. sounds like a plastic door clapping? if so chevy told me the ac is going out but I was able to find a sweet spot in the 3ed knob where it stops it. its where you direct the air to your face and you want it to point just below his feet, if that makes any sense hope it did kinda confused my self lol
this worked on mine and a friends car don't see why it wouldn't yours too

My car does the same exact thing! what i do to make it stop is change the air location( i.e foot, defrost...) to the circulate one then it stops.
I use to be able to do that but it got worse and I found this spot and I never have to hear it till some one moves the knob lol pisses me off then I got to find it again takes a while to last time was 15 mins to find it lol
I've tried every spot I can, nothing makes it go away. Where is it coming from? I want to tear my dash apart and see if I can find exactly what it is.
its right behind the dash on the passenger side behind the glove box, if you turn it on and listen should be coming out of a black cylinder.I was told you can pull it off and break a flap/door off and it will stop I haven't got that far yet tho.
