So i replaced my tps yesterday and somehow during the course of removing my intake and throttle boddy got my gas peddle stuck halfway down. Now when i start it up its idling at like 4 grand, and the gas peddle wont pull back out. Any ideas? i need help im supposed to get on the road soon and i have no working car.
Did you make sure to route the throttle cable correctly when re-installing the TB?
The cable might be caught up in the butterfly. Make sure to pull it so it falls down into the groove.

Your problem isn't with the throttle cable. You have something unhooked like a PCV, which is causing the idle to increase to compensate. It could also be a bad TPS sensor, so try the old one or swap the new one.

did you mix up the cruise control cable with the throttle cable?
most likely the tps was at the wrong stop when you installed it. just undo the TPS and see if the butterfly snaps closed.
It doesn't seem to be a problem with the throttle linkage, i unhooked the cables from the throttle body and it is still idling high. I also exchanged the tps (twice, new parts from different store) so i don't think its a part problem. the throttle plate doesn't seem to be sticking at all, i cleaned it, and when i start it up it stays at fully closed. I swapped out the idle air controller as well but that didn't fix the problem either.

4 grand and a stuck pedal, a PCV..really?
If his pedal is stuck 1/2 down that would indicate a mechanical linkage problem..
If you think it is the TPS it can be easily checked if you have an DVOM.
Yeah, really. Maybe not the PCV, but some type of vacuum leak. The engine is revving to compensate for the increased air intake.

check the linkage at the pedal under the dash...and check all the throttle linkage everywhere. this is mechanical not electrical or sensors...if the pedal WONT move something is causeing it to stick.

but that wouldn't account for the pedal being stuck down.

I understand your hypothesis completely.
I still wouldn't put the farm on it being a vacuum leak...
Had the OP complained of crappy accel, whistling noise, maybe a SLIGHT Idle increase, yeah, I could see a vacuum leak..
Think of it this way, disconnect your brake booster hose.. thats a HUGE vacuum leak, your idle doesn't increase somewhere to the tune of 3000/3400 manual/auto does it?
i don't think its a stuck pedal issue since it still revs up even when i disconect the linkage. Its got to be a vacume leak, or a problem with the idle air controler not closing i think.
I'm assuming you didn't have these problems before you changed the TPS, so you just need to go back over the work you performed and figure out if you put something back together wrong or something like that. You said you had the intake off so if it is reving up without the butterfly being open you just probably didn't get it seated or sealed properly when you put it back on. Go over the throttle cable it has to be part of your problem if it is sticking, go over the cable. If you aren't sure about something you did go here and look it up in the manual and see how it goes together,

Just go back over what you did and I'm sure you'll figure out the problem, maybe even take the TPS back off and make sure it isn't binding up somehow.
