Hey guys!
my 2002 cavalier (2200 motor and 4t40 transmission) has been throwing a P130 code. I checked the manual that came with scan tool and It says that its an error with the primary o2 sensor....well thats pretty veg!!!
So then I check the ORG's sticky and gave me a better idea of wtf is up: "DTC P0130 HO2S Circuit Closed Loop (CL) Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1"
so then I checked my 02 heater fuse to make sure that it wasn't blown, and it checked ok.
Then I checked my plug and connections and they where good also !
Is it time for a new o2 sensor?
Just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem on there cavalier and it turned out to be something else instead of a over priced o2 sensor.
Thanks in advance guys!
No one has EVER had this code? I hear in the northern states 02 sensors go bad around my milage(90k) because they use octain boosters and additives eat away at them. Hate to buy a 80 sensor and not be the problem. Maybe I'll test a junkyard one first and if the code doesn't come up ill bite the bullet and buy a new one.
Probably the 02 sensor, if you had a scan tool with graphing capabilities you could see what is going on and how it is acting.
Here is a link with plenty of information if you want to read up on it.
