Sometimes when I start my car it makes a blow off valve type sound (like air pressure or gas escaping) Could it be the belt slipping? I have the m62 charger kit on there, but it did this before I had it on there as well. What could it be?
Thats kind of what I was thinking? Is it normal for it to make that sound?
If everything is running correctly then I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you can find someone to help then you can stand with your ear next to the engine and try to see if you can hear where it is coming from or use a stethoscope on it it to see if you can find it.
Well it threw a egr large leak code today. It is running slightly rough at idle. I think this is probably the cause of my random misfires as well. I can hear a hiss coming from somewhere on the drivers side of the engine below the charcoal canister. The only thing a see around there looks like a fuel line? The car def makes a hissing sound when you turn it off as well, I heard it for the first time today with the hood up. I tried changing the line from the canister to the throttle body adapter for the egr and it still made the same noise. It also runs different when I let off the break at idle. You can hear the engine changing.
sounds like the lines going to/from the purge solenoid
Or the a/c unit pressure release, I have heard that on many vehicles, not sure what it is though.
I would tend to lean towards the egr lines since I'm getting this code and it seems like there is a small vac leak
