I am wondering is their any difference from buying a Replacement upper motor mount from Gm dealer or auto zone?. I guess the price. this for 01 cavalier.
If your staying stock, just go rock auto or your local parts store. The dealer item is probably more than something from rksport.

I have a different question about the motor mounts. I got one for my gfs cavy (99 auto 2.2L) and its the upper insert from advance. Looking at it with the other mount still in the car it doesnt look very similar. also the part number is the same for the 2.4L and the 2.2L. Does anyone no if these motors actually use the same part for the upper motor mount insert?
2.2 ohv should be a wedge looking insert...i changed all my mounts a while back that's how I know...theres a VERY helpful video on YouTube with step by step how to change
not really, it will be just fine work the same just as well chap or not, we use cheapo auto zone mounts all the time for customers cars and never have ever had any issue ever with one except for on the tauruses with those damn hydraulic engine mounts
in which we always just chain them down because the OEM ones are $$$$$$$$$

ok I'll try to get around to changing this thing out this weekend. Do either of you know what to torque the mount bolts back too?

I just do mine by German torque specs "goodantight" lol
Ok I started to change this thing out but the rain got here first. But I did look at some videos about taking the insert out. From what I can tell the stock insert is rivitted into the mount. I dont personally have a drill myself, is there another way to get the old insert out? The new one I've got comes with 2 allen screws to hold it back in. Can I just chisel the old rivets out?
Well all I can say is if you break 1 of those motor mount bolts while hand tightening it either there was something wrong with the bolt or you are a beast of a man.haha even the guy in the video was using a air tools and I would like to think he knew what he was doing.lol
Ok I finally got around to changing that thing out. man it was a pain. Ended up having to beat it out with a hammer and chisel/ screw driver.
