Hesitation, Low RPM's and Stalling.

I have seen many threads with these issues and all have had many possible solutions to them ive read and read and have a few things to try that may resolve these issues but thought id ask for other people suggestions also. the engine idles at 900 rpms on cold start, after about 2 mins dips down to 500 rpms and stays there,it is a 5 spd and have read that 900 was what gm was what it should be at?. recently i noticed when parked if i revved it up it sputter below the 500 down to about 300 and bog down, but did not stall, until today, when coming home from work i noticed hesitation in lower rpms which made shifting a bit bumpy, and when i let it sit in the driveway it eventually bogged down and died, but started right back up again. after a few revs of it dipping below 500 rpm it died again.

So im thinking possible fuel issue? filter, injectors? or maybe IAT or TPS sensor? or maybe 02 senor? possible exhaust leak?

i have noticed a bit of smoke coming from the back of the engine on the drivers side, so possible gasket leak on manifold throwing bad 02 sensor?

thats just a few things i have read and seen fix some of these issues, gonna start tomorrow on checking sensors and such, but if theres anything im missing or maybe and specific thing that would cause all three of these issues any help would be great.

Sounds like what was happening to mine, it was the fuel pressure regulator.Pull the vacuum line off the top of it and see if fuel comes out,if so that is your prob.

Just a thought,good luck

I have this issue as well, it happened to me right after I got a new cat back exhaust put on. I changed the o2s thinking those were the issue, nope... checked tps and iac both read well. so that leaves me with exhaust leak??? let me know what you find. Good luck.

So after taking out my spark plugs I noticed first cylinder had a terrible gas smell so I replaced the spark plug or that cylinder and also replaced all the boots. I noticed car runs a bit better also it is no longer dropping below 500 rpm and bogging out anymore.

One thing that's happening now though is my temperature gauge won't work at cold start and the engine is at 900 rpm then it drops to 500 rpm after a few mins idling then the temp gauge starts working an goes up to about a quarter. At any given time the temp gauge will stop working and then come back on sometime later. No telling when this will happen. Where is the sensor that shows readings for temp? Are they the o2 sensors?

The temp guage is most likely a bad sending unit.
I would check your fuel pressure and change your fuel filter.

Mine brings up that o2 sensor bank one is lean. any ideas? My car runs fine once warm and going through town as long as i don,t rev too high. I'm so lost, been working at this issue for a few months and can't find the stupid culprit. Needless to say i'm quite frustrated with it now.
