ABS light and parking brake light always on, got this code. B0003 Driver Frontal Stage 3 Deployment Control (Subfault). Tried looking all over for what the problem actually is with no luck. Anyone here have any ideas? Please help me, i do not wana bring my car into the stealer to have it looked at. Thanks guys!
You can't clear the code? From what I'm reading, it looks like there's something wrong with the Airbag Module. "Driver Frontal Stage 3 Deployment" as in the Driver Front Airbag Deployment I'm guessing. You weren't in an accident recently were you? Dumb question I know, but I gotta ask it. I did just stumble onto this while pausing my typing of the last sentence actually:
ANSWERS? <--Click. Seems like someone is having a similar problem with their 08 Silverado. I know it's a newer vehicle and what not, but it's still a GM and it seems to be quite similar in nature. If you car hasn't been in an accident or endured enough force to cause the airbag to deploy, then it might be one of the devices listed in the posting in my link, such as the SDM (Restraint System Diagnostic Module), if our cars have one. Either way, this sounds incredibly complicated and will probably have to be taken to a dealer.
I just find it weird that the ABS and the Brake light are on at the same time. I'm not sure those would actually throw a code themselves, and you may actually have two separate problems here. Googling "Cavalier brake and ABS light on" returns results anywhere from needing a brake fluid flush, new booster pump, or maybe just some new brake sensors or Drum Brakes. I'm not too certain that a faulty airbag or SDM would suddenly throw dash lights completely unrelated to Airbags in the first place. Hope this helped man.
I have not been in an accident, but i just bought the car a month or so ago. I guess its possible the previous owner was. I can clear the code, but it comes again right away. Its not affecting the car in any way other than the abs does not work at all. Maybe its a abs sensor? With all the damn sensors in new vehicles they light should come, and tell you exactly what part needs to be replaced.
You wouldn't get an airbag code for faulty ABS parts.

So...where to start? Is there a way i can check the sensors? Visually or with a multi-meter? Also, i had read somewhere that the 03 cavs had an issue with the front drivers side abs sensor wires grounding out and that GM had a updated part for it. Is this true?
What's the year, engine, etc?

Sorry bud, I can't find much of anything on this exact code. Hopefully somebody else will chime in.

All I can say is that u could always get another module for the air bag from a junkyard and try it and see if it clears the code I would say its one of those hit and miss things ......
Like I said, I think the Brake light and ABS light are a completely separate issue. Those are probably either sensors or maybe your brakes need to be replaced, not really sure. The link I gave you in my first post shows (if you scroll down a bit) a man with an 08 Silverado having a very similar problem, and a GM mechanic responding with a wealth of information. Like I stated above I think that code must do with the Airbag or Safety Restraint System in some way. You can try shelling out the cash and replacing certain modules and what not from the junkyard, or just going straight to a Chevy Dealership, either way, It doesn't look like you'll be fixing this one for free man.. :/ Sorry.
what year cav and what engine?
Sorry bout that completely forgot to tell you guys that...2003 LS Sport eco 5spd
Im confused on why you guys think it has to do with the air bag. If the air bag had an issue would the cel come on and not the ABS light? I also think the lights ARE related. I say that because when i clear the code, they are both off for a few seconds, then they come back on at the exact same time. Found a @!#$y wire last night on the front drivers side for the abs sensor. Fixed that but i havent had a chance to clear the code to see if that fixed the problem or not.
you don't wanna go to a stealership but you want a problem like that fixed
don't be such a cheap a$$ and go to the dealer to get it looked at they have the proper tools for diagnostic might be a little more labour rate but your gonna be buying the part from them anyway and they can diagnos it faster then a father son garage
why would the CEL come on for airbag CEL is engine

This ^^. We think, or I think at least, that it's the airbag because of the B0003 code you mentioned in your first post bro. I did the research, and just like I said in my first post (scroll up and read it), it has to do with your Airbags or something that monitors the SRS. A Check Engine Light wouldn't come on for an airbag, but B0003 is definitely for the airbags. So you may have, like I said before, more than one problem at hand. Just because both lights come on at exactly the same time after clearing the codes doesn't mean it's all one problem. The ABS light is on in my car too. Chances are it's a sensor or something stupid like that, probably the same in your case. Code B0003 has nothing to do with brakes, and nothing to do with your engine at all from what I've read.
checked service information for this car. b0003 does not exist. b00XX series codes are for the restrait system. What scanner did you use to pull the code? A b0030 does exist and this fault is for the side impact module deployment loop.
The code it actually pulled was B0005. But when i googled that code, B0003 came up with the same definition. So i thought maybe i just looked at it wrong. Also i replaced the headlights yesterday and there was overspray on the bottom of the lights, like the front bumper had been repainted, while on the car. So it is possible that the car was in an accident. The code is no longer there but my abs light and e-brake light are still on all the time.
b0005 is a code the bcm sets when the car is moving and the e-brake is on. Check your park brake switch; it should be open with the e-brake not applied. Check for chassis codes to diagnose the abs system.
