Ever since i bought the car several thousand miles ago, shes had a lope at idle, very similar to it having a good sized cam in it. But, the best I can, and a few other buddies and mechanics can figure is that when the previous owner did the timing chain at 100k, whoever did it, got one of the cams off a tooth. Mind you, it spits a bit at idle, but other than that, she runs smooth as glass all the way thru the rev range..Does anyone see any issues with me leaving this be until maybe 150k? Im already a little over 126k, or is this something i should tear into and fix the next possible second? And gas mileage is still pretty good, roughly 26 and change with half city half highway, so thats not really an issue.
i have an ecotec and it runs at a solid 34 to 35 in the winter so far, and i do delivery, lots of stops and traffic lights. idk what engine you have but if it isnt ruined its probably ok. most of the problem you would deal with is an internal impact.
