What's up guys!! I've got a 2002 cavy 5speed with 111,000 on it. The problem i'm having is the other morning i went to start my car and noticed as soon as it started that there was and still is a wicked vibration that can be felt throughout the whole inside of the vehicle. Door panels, windows, dash etc... It can still be felt while driving around the city, but isn't felt as much when driving highway speeds. Now i should mention that my girlfriend had my car the night before any of this happened and she told me that she downshifted from like fifth to third or second while on the highway. But said that she immediately pushed the clutch in and put it into the correct gear. So i was leaning towards maybe a motor or tramount causing the vibration. Being that you can feel the vibratio of the motor inside the car. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Try doing a tune up. Spark plugs and wires. Sounds like the car is missing. If your motor or trans mounts were shot it shouldn't vibrate at idle. You can check this by putting it in gear with the hood open and pressing the gas while holding the brake while someone looks at the engine and then doing the same in reverse. If they are shot the engine will rock.
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
I just replaced the plugs and wires about a month ago so i highly doubt that could be it. Plus it's a constant vibration almost as if the motor was resting against the firewall and sending the vibration to the inside of the car??
Yes the check engine light is on ,but it has been on for about five or six months with an evap code. Used my code scanner to check for any other codes and that is the only code .
