Except in extreme performance I do not see the reason in doing so.
With that Walbro and Aeromotive make a whole line of pumps.
FU Tuning
What would be the point in doing this?

I would like external pumps too, just to make the pump replacement as easy as changing a fuel filter, about 10 minutes?
whats the cost of a regular OEM replacement pump?
I was able to pick up the
Racetronix Wbody performance pump AND
harness shipped for $200. Its WAY better than stock and is a direct bolt in (including the wiring harness).
So if a stock one isnt much cheaper, I'd just upgrade anyways for a nice intank pump. If your stock one goes bad, and you mount an exterior pump, would you just disconnect the intank pump or take it out? Cause either way you'd be going into the tank anyways if you do remove the stocker.

Are we talking about running a external instead of replacing a cooked j-pump? I think that is where this was going......
