Hi everyone, my 15 yr. old son and I picked up a 99 Z24 w/LD9 as a father-son project, it will be "his" when he gets his license. LSS we are re-building the engine, had a rod knock and lo-and-behold, shot bearings (3 of 4 conn rod bearings spun) and a bent #2 rod. While tearing it down we pulled the pins from the pistons to get everything nice and clean and inspected. Now, I can't find a source for the pin retainers. Anyone have a hint, a part number, or a source? I see Grainger has a selection, I could probably find a match but I'd prefer to use a verified matching product.
Also I could use a rod if anyone has an old one lying around ...!!
Thanks!
Did his motor have flat top pistons or dished pistons?
Import Performance used to sell just wrist pins....
Click me.
Napa I believe also still sells stock wrist pins.

PRND321 Till I DIE
Old Motor: 160whp & 152ft/lbs, 1/4 Mile 15.4 @88.2
M45 + LD9 + 4T40-E, GO GO GO
Dished, but very slightly. The pistons have a funny mark, looks like a $ but I think it's SK.
Thanks! I'll check out the other link!
Whats the Casting number on the head? It might not be the stock motor in the car.

Sorry, I haven't gotten to the head yet other than pulling it to disassemble the engine. I will check it tonight.
I know the block has a GM logo on the side and 2.4L. It is definitely a 2.4 DOHC.
Head is 24574683-18
Cam covers are 2457 2810&4057
Crank is 4620
3 of the 4 rods are b149, the other and ironically bent one starts with an A, not a B
The pistons have an overlapping SK inside a V, to theleft of the v is a G, to the right is 52H
I'm thinking it's a reman swapped in at some point - it has 140k miles.
