Hello all,
Looks like I need a water pump on my 2001 Cavy 2.2 OHV. Loosing coolant out of the vent hole
Anyway, has anyone done this job in their driveway successfully? I'm a decent mechanic but just wanted to make sure before I get half way through and run into something unexpected. All I really need is the proper wrenches, sockets and extensions etc., a razor blade, some fine grit sand paper, and some silicone right?

I am actually doing one tomorrow. I believe they are only held in by 4 bolts. All you have to do is take off the belt and 4 bolts. The car I am working on is a 97 though.
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
Its an easy water pump job ever, I just did mine 2 weeks ago. Easy 1.5 hrs.

Yeah thats exactly how it looked to me too. Did you have to get underneath it at all? Looks like if I just pop the belt and remove the alternator I'll have all the access to it that ill need.
Thanks for the replies guys.

I did it all from the top passenger side of the car. Took the belt off / Then alternator undone the bolts to the water pump, Then cleaned the surface area on the engine block, put the gasket on the pump silicone bolted everything back up check for leaks good to go.
Awesome, that's the plan then. Thanks!
