Don't worry, changing the valve cover gasket, (and in your case make sure the tube seals come with it. That is if the LD9 has tube seals) really isn't that bad or expensive of a job to do.

What causes valve covers to leak?
mine was leaking, but it stopped on its own since the day I put a new pcv valve and hose, I also had a seeping oil sender switch replaced before that.
I think the 2.4 has no pcv, but would it help to clean the valve cover lines and oil separator if it has one?

you have to know what your doing, it is not like a normal valve cover.

I would recommend checking the bolts on the cam towers to make sure they are tight.

Also, check to see if the oil pressure senor isn't cracked and leaking. It is a common problem on LD9s.
