Im replacing the thermostat on my 1999 2.4 cav
what's the OEM temperature?
Autozone has the
192 temp
180 temp
160 temp ratings
I was thinking about the 160 temp fail safe thermostat
I live in central Florida so is mostly hot weather all year around
what you guys think would it be any issues with ecu, would my MPG,s suffer?
Thanks in advance any advice would be appreciated
2.3 and 2.4L and ecotec ______ 180* t stat
2.2L OHV_____195* t stat
Haynes is your friend
160 is way too cold for an engine to be operating
thats no where near full operating temp at all
really
its all about the PCM and sensors and full operating temp
-96 cavalier 2.2 auto 143k miles
Thanks for the help guys I'm just go a stick with the 180 temp I'm trying to get better MPG,s
