This is kind of embarrassing, but is there any trick to getting the wiper arms off? I took the nut off but they're still reluctant to come off; even when I tried to pry them off with a big screw driver. Should I just tap them with a hammer and break them loose, or is there something else that I'm missing? 2001, coupe. As always, thanks in advance.

You can get one of these:
Wiper Arm Puller
Which will pull it off. Or you can push down at the bendable part of the arm. The joint. Basically wiggle that and that should pop it off.
I've always had success with wiggling and pulling by hand.
Error: Sig not found.
When I did the 00+ harness swap I had to pull the arms off for the first time. I tried prying and wiggling and ended up breaking the wiper mount. I had to use a 3 jaw puller to get the arm off.

sharp palm strike to the arm about 8" up the blade from the bolt. This pushes the arm down and levers it off.

Ok, so I'm not the only one. Mine are definitely under this category. 150k and obviously never been removed before. Sounds like I need to get my hands on a puller. Perhaps I can rent one at autozone or something. As for bumping it and trying to shock it loose, I abused the hell out of those things and they didn't budge. I was worried I was going to break the mount so I gave up and came here
